2021 Leadership Awards
Wednesday, November 10, 2021
For 11 years, the USGBC Green Gala Leadership Awards has been the premier social event of the Carolinas’ community. Each year, we bring together the most impactful and influential individuals and organizations in our region for an evening of networking and celebration of achievement within the community. Join us as we celebrate the innovative projects and inspiring Leaders working to make a greener future for all in the Carolinas.
Congratulations to all award winners for LEED-ing the way
Nominations were reviewed by an independent jury of peers from the green building industry. Our panel of judges reviewed and scored each project who applied against the following criteria.
Projects are judged on the following criteria with a scoring matrix:
• Rating system version & certification level
• Project goals
• Strategy
• Process & synergies
• Performance outcomes
• Lessons learned
We are here to celebrate leaders engaging in extraordinary work in both North and South Carolina– driving innovation, transforming their industry, and accelerating knowledge exchange around a diversity of sustainability strategies.
The USGBC Carolinas Leadership Awards celebrate building owners and project teams for their extra effort to accomplish LEED® certification for their buildings.
LEED-certified spaces use less energy and water, save money for individuals, businesses and taxpayers, reduce carbon emissions, and create a healthier environment for occupants and the community at large.
A common thread of discussion that judges shared goes something like this
“What a great diversity in applications from private and public owners and project teams.
We understand that public entities must be even more conscious of how they are using their budgets and still LEEDing the way in their communities.
The winners were able to tell us why the project was award worthy and how it connects to a bigger sustainability story.”
